GENTLY USED TOY COLLECTION
This was our biggest project of the year! We cleaned out our playrooms before Santa arrived and collected 1,253 gently used toys for children in need. The toys were donated to Grace Haven, a free store in Lancaster, Ohio benefiting those in need and single women recovering from addiction.

TOYS FOR BIG BROTHER AND BIG SISTERS OF LICKING AND PERRY COUNTY
We collected over 100 new toys to make a toy bank for the holidays and children’s birthdays throughout the year.
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOLIDAY PARTY
This was our main social event of the year! Hosted by the four Templin children, Sending Hope members celebrated the holidays with snacks, crafts, making cards with Cards of Joy for local nursing homes, and by making new friends! Cozy pajamas were highly encouraged!

CHARITY NEWSIES FAIRFIELD COUNTY
Sending Hope was thrilled to support the Fairfield County Charity Newsies in their annual paper sale and food boxes fighting food insecurity. We LOVE the Newsies!
THANKSGIVING FOSTER CARE CLOTHES CLOSET
We donated 36 giant bags of new or used clothing of all sizes to be distributed during a Thanksgiving dinner to local foster families and youth newly graduated from the foster care system.

THANKSGIVING FOSTER CARE ALUMNI MEAL
Sending Hope members volunteered their time to serve Thanksgiving dinner to local young adults newly graduated from the foster care system in central Ohio.

NEWARK HOMELESS OUTREACH THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON
Sending Hope members volunteered both their time and food to serve over 120 local homeless people with the Newark Homeless Outreach. This completed over 200 donated food items with the organization throughout 2023.

PROVIDING EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
Sending Hope provided emergency assistance in the form of urgently needed items and clothing to a homeless postpartum immigrant mother and her newborn son, a woman following a devastating housefire, and three young children needing winter clothing.
PRIVATE TRICK-OR-TREAT FOR A CRITICALLY ILL CHILD
Ten year old Emily has been in and out of the hospital since her liver transplant in 2022. To to her medical treatment, Emily is often forced to miss fun events in childhood, including trick-or-treat. Therefore, Sending Hope made Emily and her brother a private trick-or-treat complete with over 20 volunteering families, decorated cars, and dozens of loving new friends!
CLOTHING AND FEEDING THE HOMELESS
Sending Hope partnered with the Newark Homeless Outreach to prepare for the winter months ahead. Over 100 coats, new gloves, and blankets were collected to be given to local people experiencing homelessness this winter.
COMMUNITY SERVICE FALL PARTY
Hosted by the four Templin children, Sending Hope members welcomed fall at this fun social and community service event! Hotdogs and s’mores were roasted with new friends, homemade cards and toiletry bags were created by children, and tons of fall fun was had outdoors! There were even glowsticks involved!

TOILETRY BAGS AND FOOD FOR LOCAL HOMELESS
Sending Hope members collected over fifty different types of items and made toiletry bags to be hand-delivered by the Templin Children to local individuals requesting assistance through the Newark Homeless Outreach. The toiletry bags contained over 1,000 items!
BACK TO SCHOOL ASSISTANCE
August was all about the return to school! Sending Hope members gathered curriculum resources needed for an intervention teacher, and came together to replace a large number of teaching supplies stolen from a local kindergarten classroom.
EMERGENCY CHILD CUSTODY
Sending Hope provided emergency assistance in the form of clothing, diapers, toys, and baby gear to a woman gaining emergency custody of an infant and toddler.
COMMUNITY SERVICE SUMMER PARTY
Hosted by the Four Templin children, Sending Hope members celebrated the Fourth of July at the Templin Freedom Fest! Independence Day was celebrated in style with lots of food, friends, and fireworks! Over 200lbs of food were collected for the Licking County Food Bank.
TOYS FOR FOSTER CARE
Sending Hope members gathered together to collect new toys for two little boys who had their toys stolen while in foster care.

RESOURCES FOR AN IMMIGRANT FAMILY
Sending Hope members provided assistance to an immigrant family of four, including a new baby arriving in the fall, in the form of children's clothing, carseats, and large amounts of baby items.
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE TO A SINGLE-MOM AND NEWBORN BOY
Sending Hope members provided assistance to a single-mom and her newborn son following the incarceration of his father. Assistance included infant clothing, diapers, and large amounts baby equipment.

SNACK BAGS FOR CHILDREN WITH FOOD INSECURITY
Sending Hope supported Seeds of Caring Columbus to create snack bags and notes to be given to children using the New Albany Food Bank.

SMILES FOR A CRITICALLY ILL CHILD
Sending Hope members sent cards of cheer to a critically ill child during a long-term stay at the Ronald McDonald House.

BIRTHDAY KITS FOR THE FOOD BANK
All birthdays should be celebrated! Sending Hope joined a local Girl Scout troop in the creation of birthday kits to be given to the Licking County Food Bank. The kits included everything to celebrate a child’s birthday: cake mix, icing, decorations, plates and napkins, balloons, and even a present!

RESOURCES FOR A SCHOOL OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST AND A KINDERGARTEN TEACHER
We love our schools! Sending Hope members gathered curriculum resources, board games, activities, and toys needed in a new school occupational therapist’s and kindergarten teacher’s classrooms.

100 ACTS OF KINDNESS CHALLENGE
We challenged Sending Hope members to complete 100 Acts of Kindness in 2023. The Templin Four tracked their progress by coloring in 100 hearts.
MATERNITY AND BABY NEEDS FOR AN EXPECTING MOM
Sending Hope gathered maternity clothing and baby gear for a 16-year-old mom-to-be.
